Exhibition of Fine Art and Graphics at the Emunah Appleman College of Arts & Technology
As in previous years two exhibitions were mounted recently by the Emunah Appleman College of Arts and Technology displaying the work of the graduating students for their final year projects.
The presentation of the 2009 graduating class of the Fine Arts department was exhibited at the LAB an art gallery located near the college during the month of June. Many different art techniques were demonstrated by the students including sketching, etching, oil painting, model construction and environmental statues. The level of work shown was extremely high and many favorable critiques were published regarding the graduates work.
Twenty nine girls participated in an advanced level exhibition of work from the Graphic Arts Department which opened in July. The Head of the Department, Yigal Gross, proudly reported that graduates are very much in demand by prospective employers. Yigal described their work has having “such clean lines – the combination of design, teacher training and Judaic studies is a receipt for success.” He added that the girls made such an effort in mounting the exhibition that 3 students gave birth in the last 2 weeks!
Rabbi Fogel gave a D’var Torah – speaking of the 10 measures of beauty given to the world – 9 of which were given to Jerusalem - at the center of which lies Michlelet Emunah.
Liora Minka, Chairperson of Emunah Israel summarized by saying that the Emunah Appleman College is literally a dream come true and strengthened Yigal Gross's words by again saying that the graduates in all fields from the College are those who are the most successful as their skills are over and above those of graduates from other colleges - they have that extra "something"!
