Emunah, the largest Religious Zionist organization in Israel, has produced a Haggada for Independence Day. It includes extracts about Israel as the Promised Land, the hurdles that had to be overcome in order to reach independence, and how the dream of salvation of the Jewish people and the hope of Zionism is fulfilled in the State of Israel.
Emunah regards the distribution of this new and special Haggada as an attempt to infuse added content and value to the Independence Day holiday. It is the hope of Emunah to create on this day - alongside the popular picnics and performance - a custom of learning and reflection in the Jewish and Zionist tradition. Thus, the Haggada includes the prayers for the State of Israel and for the soldiers of the IDF, as well as appropriate Israeli songs and poems by modern Israeli writers.
As a religious Zionist women's movement, the Haggada also gives expression to the role that women have played in the process of redemption and independence and devotes significant attention to outstanding women leaders.
