Activities of Emunah Chapters in Israel
Eshet Chayil… The Annual Eshet Chayil Luncheon for English speaking groups honoring Tikva Shmueli, Helen Katz, Shlomo Kessel, Emanuel Sabbo and the Staff of the Emunah Sarah Herzog Children’s Home in Afula was held in February. Participants enjoyed a delicious meal and lecture from guest speaker Rabbanit Pnina Neuwirth.
Women’s song and prayer… Continuing Emunah’s tradition of promoting women’s song and prayer a concert was held in Ashkelon to celebrate International Women’s Day. Dignitaries and a large audience enjoyed hearing Jewish soul music sung by Meytal Trebelsy and Chazanut by renouned chazanit Rachel Wilner together with her daughter Sima.
Kol Emunah at the Tel Aviv Museum… International Women’s Day was celebrated at the Tel Aviv Museum. Well known singers David Da’or, Adi Arad, were accompanied by ‘Nashot Chava’. The Woman of the Year award was presented to Rabbanit Malka Bina, founder of The Matan Institute for Women’s Learning, for her great contribution to women’s education.
A Day of Pleasure and Fun in Yaffo-Tel Aviv… Members of Emunah Israel enjoyed a day of fun in the Old City of Yaffo. Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv - Rav Yisrael Meir Lau shlita spoke about the multi-faceted women after whom the participants enjoyed a fashion show and lunch.
‘Family Week’ marked by Emunah Branches… The Jerusalem Branch of Emunah marked ‘Family Week’ with a lecture on ‘The family as a stable base for the existence of the Jewish people’ given by Rabbi Rafi Feuerstein, Head of the Zohar organization of Rabbis. The event took place at the Begin Center and was moderated by Mrs. Rina Wasserman, Vice-Chairman Emunah Israel and Head of the Family Department.
Emunah Be’er Sheva held an evening with Rabbanit Yemima Mizrachi on the subject ‘A Happy Woman’.
V’Ani Tefilati - an evening for Emunah Women held in the North of Israel… A full auditorium of friends of Emunah enjoyed an inspiring evening on the subject: ‘The Essence of Purim’ with Rabbanit Pnina Neuwirth.
