Latest Updates from the South of Israel-compiled by the Foreign Department of Emunah
The situation in the south of Israel changes literally from minute to minute. The leadership of Emunah-Israel is in constant contact with the Home Guard and security personnel in order to take the necessary decisions concerning the opening of Emunah day care centers and other facilities in the south. In each of the facilities we have had to employ additional personnel in order to make sure there are enough adults to shepherd the children into safe areas as soon as the sirens sound.
In the Neve Landy Children’s Home in Even Shmuel, close to Kiryat Gat, the children who suffer as it is from severe emotional problems, are now experiencing a serious disruption in their daily routine. Most of the schools that they attend are closed, and alternative activities have to be found for them. Additional personnel is needed for this and in general in order to make sure they are all kept busy and distracted from the situation.
Emunah’s Neve Michael Children’s Village in Pardess Chana, which is categorized as an emergency center for children at risk, stands ready to take in children from other children’s homes in the event that they have to be evacuated.
We have already told you how the Emunah Family Counselling Centers have readjusted their work schedules and are engaging in outreach in order to seek out those who are in need of their professional services. This is continuing throughout. Even in those places that are not allowed to be opened so as not to have too many people congregated in one area, the family counselors are in constant telephone contact with those in need of support.
Emunah branches have invited families in the danger zones to be in touch with them in order to find places in quieter areas of the country in which they might stay for a few days—or more.
We will continue to update you as the situation develops.
Please pray for the safety of the IDF soldiers and the Israelis who are in danger of rocket attacks.
