Emunah of America Sponsors Yam LeYam Hike Across Israel
Shaken by the staggering needs of the people in the north of Israel, a group of 18 American and Canadian men and women hiked from the Mediterranean Sea to Lake Kinneret as a sign of solidarity and as way to raise funds for those in need. Many who could not personally join the hike but identified with the message generously sponsored other hikers. The spirit and camaraderie was high throughout, and no one backed out despite the tough terrain and tropical temperatures. On the last day of the trek, the group was joined by children from the Emunah Sarah Herzog Children’s Home in Afula, who accompanied the hikers all the way to their final destination. There they were greeted by the “Emunotes” singing group from the Emunah Home in Afula, who entertained the participants with a wonderful performance and provided an emotional finale for the inspiring trip. The “Emunotes” themselves had just returned from a highly successful tour in the United States.
Proceeds from the Yam LeYam Hike will be going to an Emunah facility in the north of Israel.
Over the last months Emunah of America has made generous contributions to several Emunah day care centers in the north, including in Nahariya, Hazor and Safed, all areas that suffered during the war last summer.
